INSTALLATIONS IN COLORADO

955 Bunting Avenue, Grand Junction, Colorado

We moved to Grand Junction, Colorado in August 2006 because I was hired by Mesa State College (MSC). The house we rented was conveniently located across the street from the Art Department of MSC and it belonged to the college. I had MSC as my employer and my land lord at the same time. Soon after we learned that the house would be demolished because of the college expansion. The house had an interesting archtecture and we started to enjoy living there. but still we received 30-day notice of evacuation on May 15th 2007. Meanwhile I did three rope-drawings on this house including the one after receiving the notice. My Rope-Drawing has been my reaction to city development through new economy. Each of my Rope-drawing has been an offering to a building which has a fate to disappear, and this time the subject happend to be my own residense, and the developper happend to be my own employer.
